Texas Haul: Makeup and Skincare

Hello! I've still got a lot of Texas/hiatus-related posts left behind, but I have so many exciting recent posts that I'll just try to insert Texas stuff here and there. I hope people don't get too confused. I'm like, talking about boxes and collaborations that I recently did, then suddenly I'm gearing back to my August hiatus. What gives, Telleeeehhhhh?!

*shrug* I'm just talking about things in the order I want to. Is that so bad? I'm getting back into my groove and feeling quite inspired again. I tell ya, putting me on a schedule shoots my mood through the skies :P

So you already know about the Travel Essentials and Tools I picked up. Now, let me take you to theeee most girliest girly girl part of the known girlie universe: Makeup and Skincare! (1USD Items is the last Texas Haul segment. Don't know when that'll go up :P)

Texas Haul: Makeup and Skincare

Here's What I Got:

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey and Adore (USD 8.99- sale at USD 2.25, Ulta); Sally Hansen Invisible Lip Liner (USD 6.99, Target); L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder in Nude Beige (USD 10.97, Target), and Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light (USD 45, Sephora.)

I've been lemming for a Clinique Chubby Stick for some time now, but can't really find it in me to spend that much on what is basically a tinted balm. I got these Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains in protest of Clinique's pricing but somewhat regret spending on something I liked less. I chose my two favorite balm shades; a light, girly pink (Honey) and a deep, berry red (Adore.) Still, they're dirt cheap at around Php 100 so I don't really feel bad. HA! I only did the math in my head now, though. And I wish I got all shades :(

There was a time when I kept nagging everyone about how I didn't know what to do with lip liners and how to choose the colors. Well, this is a great solution! Whenever I don't wanna think about how a lip liner's gonna affect my lipstick, this will probably be my go-to liner. I've always wanted a translucent lip liner, such as Sally Hansen Invisible Lip Liner! Lip primer is just different, okay?

L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder (in Nude Beige) was at first, just a cool concept to me. It's liquid foundation that dries with a powder finish. Still, I got to thinking: dry-skinned people who hate the muck of liquid foundation can finally hydrate their skin without suffocating their pores! I don't know if liquid foundation with powder finish is as revolutionary as I think it is, but this is the first time I've heard of it!

Aaaand drumroll! Presenting, the Wish List feature: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder! I'm a sucker for Carina's raves and I really thought this gave a goddess-like effect when she featured them. I got it in Diffused Light, which is described as a warm, pale yellow. I almost forced myself onto the Luminous Light, which is a champagne pearl because Carina looked so damn good in it. I'm glad I swatched them because on me, LL looked pretty frosty and the whiter DL instead was the one to give me the right balance between warmth and light. Imagine the SADS if I went home with LL.

Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo (USD 11, Sephora); Out The Door Quick Dry Top Coat (USD 4.99 Sally's); Reviva Hyaluronic Acid Serum (USD 18.69, Ulta); Mustela Bebe Hydra-Stick (USD 9.50, Ulta.)

I often mention in this blog how I try to have one day a month where I don't wash my hair, just to let it rest. I love second-day volume but hate second-day greasiness. Can't we have it all? With this Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo, I sure hope I can! The Sephora SA kept pushing this powder shampoo but I didn't really dig the paranoia of having grey stains, especially since my hair is so dark. (*BBT note: Just remembered that Tony Moly has dry shampoo, which might be cheaper. Huhu.)

Out The Door Quick Dry Top Coat, just 'cause my dad was able to bring home a lot of nail polishes for us last time. I really need to work on my post-mani klutziness :/ In the meantime, I'll be cheating with this quick-dry topcoat :P

Sophie of Sophiedoodles once told me that Hyaluronic Acid eye masks are one of theee best eye moisturizers she's tried. I couldn't remember the exact brand name, though I remember finding so many raves and at least a 4 out of 5 rating on Makeup Alley. I'm hoping this  Reviva Hyaluronic Acid Serum replicates that effect on my whole face :P

I learned of moisturizer sticks from Donah of Sweet Jelly Bean. I think they're so convenient to have in your purse. I had a good run with my Mustela samples so I'm crossing my fingers, wishing to be completely hiyang (compatible) with the Mustela Bebe Hydra-Stick! (*BBT Note: Found the bar yellowed and funny-smelling. Expiry was way back March 2013 :[ What a waste!!!)

Free samples

Yadda, yadda. Just free samples I got from my purchases.

I'm pretty stoked about this argan oil Color Oasis shampoo and conditioner set. It's huuuuuge and is sulfate-free, which is just right for my recent digipermed, double ombre-d hair :)

I don't have much interest in the Sephora face base, but it's always nice to broaden one's horizons.

I had a laughable experience with Kate Somerville in the past, so thankfully all I have now is a Kate Somerville Oil-Free Moisturizer. It's not exactly for my skin type, but Kate Somerville products actually work.

I just splurged on Hourglass, and picked up a few essentials and interesting items items. AS PLANNED! So happy I didn't overdo it on this s]one :D Whoo! Can't wait to use the Revlon JBKBS :D
