Human Heart Nature is available through their website (humanheartnature.com), the following retail stores and dealers.

Product Description:

Human Heart Nature is most famous for its "pro-Philippines, pro-poor, pro-environment" tagline. They feature affordable and ethically sourced raw materials. HHN is cruelty-free.

The Cleansing Oil features only "premium cosmetic-grade sunflower oil and all-natural fragrance" in its ingredients but the main label merely states "100% natural cleansing oil WITH sunflower oil". So... I'm not really sure if there are other oils mixed with this product.

Pretty useless lock

The container features a clockwise-turning nozzle lock, but it still leaks pretty badly and its one of my major gripes with the product. I couldn't even take a picture of the product laying on a table because it would drip 2 seconds in... while it was locked.

The oil is thick-bodied and slightly yellow, with a tangy scent. It doesn't feel "sour" despite the fragrance, and doesn't irritate the eyes nor small, open wounds such as popped pimples.

How to Use:

Use 2-3 pumps of the product and gently rub all over your face, concentrating on areas with stubborn makeup. You can wipe it off with tissue or a warm face towel- I use tissue.

Performance:

While this product claims to be waterproof, it hasn't done well with my fiberwigs and other waterproof makeup. It can remove the bulk of my mascara, but lots of flaky bits remain stuck until I take out any of my handy bi-phase makeup removers.

The cleansing oil melts away thick foundation and feels very gentle when massaged on the skin, but something about the thickness and body of the oil leaves residue even after wiped with tissue. It leaves a thin sticky film, even after washing with a cleanser.

It also tends to creep inside the eyes, giving me "underwater vision" for the rest of the night.

However, I do appreciate the fresh citrusy scent. It cuts through the oil and makes it feel lighter, if that makes sense. It also helps to refresh and slightly wake me up, but the oil-citrus combo could be annoying to some.

Edge:

Simple formulation. Expiry date stamped at the bottle (though mine got rubbed off). Cruelty-free.

Rebuy:

100% Natural and Cruelty-Free

Probably not. I would recommend this to beginners who are looking for an affordable and gentle makeup remover if they don't regularly use waterproof eye products. I also recommend it to people who use petroleum jelly, because its purported gentleness is such a big sack of lies. Petrolatum is very heavy, and like I said above, all the effort in taking it out does more harm than good. HHN Cleansing Oil is a step in the right direction for you guys.

Beauty by Tellie score: 2.5 / 5

I like that its affordable and has the expiry date stamped on the bottle. It's good enough for drugstore, and I like that it's cruelty-free. In fact I use it regularly, 'cause I don't wear eyeliner and mascara to the office.

However, the inconvenience with waterproof makeup, thick body and leaky container take 0.5 off its average drugstore ranking of 3.
