Another Swatch Day: Elizabeth Arden Ultra Ceramide Lipstick in 24 Cassis and 27 Rose Aurora

Don't get sick of my face yet, please. I know I've been doing a lot of face shots as of late, but it's only because I only just recently found a workable FOTD setup. I've been avoiding FOTDs since I started blogging, because I was so dependent on natural light and even then, my makeup doesn't always show accurately. It was just a huge frustration.

Anyway I'm going to swatch 2 lip colors today. They're a gift from when I recently caught up with Becs, someone I consider a 'blogging classmate.' I believe it was in this blog that she offered the two lippies to me, because they were sheer and she doesn't know anyone else who's okay with sheer. In short, I was the only girl she knew doing the pabebe-fresh look.

I remember when I got them, I immediately checked the tubes and they were fucking fresh as hell. I told her: guuuuurl, you did not even give them a chance?! And she laughed and told me she swatched them a few times, but there was really no love for them.

I swatched them by number, just because I like order like that. Anyway they both look like really similar brown shimmers so I didn't think either would stain and mess up the other's swatch.

So I get to swatching and OK 24 CASSIS IS SUPER PIGMENTED WHAT. Does this look sheer to anyone? The finish might not be matte, but pigment definitely came to class prepared. I don't know if I can get much wear out of it, because it's a little deeper than what I lean toward these days, but I'll see if I can use it to fix up lip tint blending.

27 Rose Aurora is more my style. It looks pinker on swatch, but since the formula is quite sheer it pats mauvey on my lips. To be honest, I think my lips had the same 'amplifying effect' with Cassis. Rose Aurora is ta great everyday mauve, especially if I'm not doing much to the rest of my face. I like how the shimmer gives me shine without the wet feel. I don't think I can rock glossy lips regularly, no matter how trendy they get.
