My First Workshop: MUFE X Kristel Yap KBeauty Workshop ft. UV Bright Cushion

Last 1 July I hit a career milestone: I held a K Beauty workshop for Make Up For Ever Philippines. I never thought I'd get a more perfect opportunity: I love educating about beauty, and I graduated from MUFE Seoul so K Beauty is right up my alley! It couldn't be more perfect :)

For those who didn't make it, here are my pro tips to rocking that fresh Korean base, which I converted into a sexy, Burgundy eye shadow look:

Make Up For Ever UV Bright Cushion swatch Y225

Tip #1: Cushion Application - MUFE UV Bright Cushion Foundation is a great BB cream, because it doesn't have that white cast that you normally get from BB creams. There are also 5 or 6 shades, unlike the typical white or whiter options with Korean BB creams. It keeps the same dewy finish, but with a bit more coverage!

I like to dot the product heavily on my cheeks, nose, forehead and chin. Using the rubicell sponge, blend circularly outwards until you have one even layer of foundation all over the face. Go over a second layer where you have more discoloration, typically over the nose and cheeks.

You cannot draw straight eyebrows over curved, if your brows are dark and overly curved.

Tip #2: Straight Eyebrows - Eyebrows normally start low, arch upwards and go low again. If you don't want to shave off half your eyebrows for a straight brow look, you may simply 'counter-draw' to decrease the arch as much as possible. Draw the low points (ends and roots) high, then draw the high points (arches) low. This way, the brow appears straighter than it normally is. I love brow inks for drawing a straight brow, and MUFE's Brow Liner has a thin applicator that realistically draws brow strands!

Tip #3: Gradient lips - Gradient lips look great with a berry hue on the inner section, and a nude hue on the outer section. You may go over your lips with foundation for the nude hue, or simply apply the two lip colors on the said areas. Blend over the lines with your fingers or the applicator. I like using something like the MUFE Acrylip which has a built-in fuzzy applicator.

Tip #4: Burgundy Eyeshadow - Korean eyeshading is great for hooded lids, which many Filipinos have anyway. The shape is upward and outward, as opposed to simply upward. They're also fond of puppy-tail liner vs. cat eyeliner, which can enlarge the eyes with a more innocent feel.

To make Wine Eyes work, use a pale pink base all over the lid. Shade a medium pink shade on the outer corner, and pat some wine color on the center of the medium shading. Line the lower lids by matching the colors on the upper lid. Wash the upper lid and inner corners with lots of NUDE-CHAMPAGNE shimmer, to tone down the vibrancy of the pinks and reds.

And that's it! Hope I can do more workshops in the future, this experience was a blast! Here's some more photos from the event.

*I'm so thankful to MUFE Philippines especially Katrina and Cindy, who coordinated with me. Also appreciate the assistance of MUFE Trinoma team, especially Jza, and everyone who came and supported online ^^
