Loving You Lately: Blistex Lip Infusion SPF 15
In any given week you can bet your trust fund that there's at least one day where I would be randomly offering lip skin to family members or close friends. It's my way of giving back to the world.
Yes, I have horribly chapped lips. My lips are dry like the rest of my face.
Colorless lip skin is translucent and I just tell myself that it isn't obvious (Tellie, stop lying to yourself.)
Blistex Lip Infusion Moisture Splash |
Armed with this delusion, I am able to not care about chapped lips. It's only my love for matte lippies forces me to give a damn. Once I've painted them over, the cragged skin becomes super obvious so I have to erase the lippie and find a way.
Sometimes I use scrubs, but I realize they only work on large and loose patches of skin. They'd always leave those thin sheets that aren't all the way off, but neither all the way part of my lips. Lipstick looks horrible on top of this! Blistex Lip Infusion has been the perfect pre-lippie tradition since I rediscovered it a couple of months ago.

I forgot. I can't find it online. This has been with me for quite a while *whistles innocently*
Product Description:
Blistex Lip Infusion has SPF 15. It comes in a metal rollerball applicator with a translucent gray body. It's large as a standard lip balm stick and has 4ml of product.
It's described as a sheer liquid balm (check) that offers deep hydration and no waxy feel from a hydrating formula (check, check, check!).
Performance:
I use this prior to doing my whole face makeup, when my lips are particularly chappy. By the time I'm done, the formula has dried but the jagged skins have set leaving my lips plump, smooth but dry to the touch. I dab a dot on the upper and lower lip as the applicator tends to overdo it, and too much of the formula takes quite a while to dry off.

Edge:
Tames chapped skin without leaving any waxy or wet feel. It also moisturizes deeply!

Beauty by Tellie score: 5 / 5 - perfect pre-matte prep
I absolutely love this thing. It's the best pre-matte prep especially when scrubs fail to get the lifted but not completely loose skin off my lips. It gives that deep feeling of hydration that waxy balms tend not to offer as they sit only on the surface of the skin. Furthermore, once Blistex is fully absorbed, it doesn't leave a wet texture and keeps my mattes matte.
