For its thirteenth year, Posh Nails is rolling out a new pair of services, the DETOX Mani and Pedi. Last time I checked in with them, they were offering flavored treatments such as watermelon, lemon and strawberry. It suddenly clicks how they're able to celebrate their 13th year in business; they keep their offerings fresh so there's always something new to try!
DETOX Mani (525) and Pedi (650) are Cuccio-centric treatments that aim to eliminate stress via antioxidants infused in the products. Cuccio is a popular natural nail brand that includes both color and spa products. It's one of the alternative recommendations salons always offer to chemical-conscious consumers.
I took the pedi but had to pass on the mani because this was the season where I was so busy running my documents all over Metro Manila. I just knew I'd chip them in a matter of hours.
Here's what went down:
DETOX Pedi
Price: 650
Inclusions: foot soak, foot spa via bubbling massage machine, leg and foot scrub via textured glove, application of callus softening cream, minty massage mask with towel wrap, manual massage, nail grooming, callus removal (opted out)
The foot soak felt pretty sad to me with its low water level, but that's because it would be followed up with the bubbling massage machine anyway! I love this device, and am glad it seems standard for level-up pedicure treatments.
There was a leg and foot scrub using a spa salt and I had to ask my attendant to avoid an eczema spot on my left leg. She did so dutifully, and wiped gingerly at the area whenever excess product would smear close by.
Afterwards, I had a cushy, minty mask spread all over my feet and legs. They were wrapped in towels and left to bake for a bit. That's basically the end of the treatment as it's a simple massage and nail grooming afterwards.
In sum? The whole treatment felt utterly relaxing. My favorite is the combination of the extra strong cooling mask and the warmth of the towel wrap. It also helps their case that everything was applied with liberal massage motions so you just can't help but sink into the couches.
My hands don't get beat up so I normally prefer a specialty foot treatment with a plain manicure. Seeing the other girls mummified in towels on both hands and feet made me utterly jealous of how cozy they looked! I'll probably make an exception on this treatment and get BOTH done when I have the chance.
