Dramatic Looks Workshop with BYS at the Beauty Confidential
Last February 11, BDJ teamed up with my homegirls, Project Vanity, to bring us the BDJ x Project Vanity Beauty Confidential in the Rockwell Activity Center. This event is another one of BDJ's beauty fairs, where they seek to bring brands and fans together in one giant fair. BDJ's typical beauty fair format is to have ongoing talks in the main hall, of which people could sign up for two topics of about 6 total talks. This event's talks were: Derma Secrets to Great Skin, Makeup Expert Beauty Hacks, Self Care Skin Regimen from AM to PM, Healing Oils Work for You, Fierce Beauty LOTD and Transformative Power of Mineral Makeup.
While that's happening, several beauty brands have manned booths all around the venue, offering discounts, samples and games for all event-goers! BDJ is an established beauty behemoth, especially since they worked on subscription boxes. But PV being the #1 online beauty resource did not leave this department slacking. This powerhouse duo came together to invite: Bioderma, BYS, Canmake, Celeteque, Colourette, Colour Collection, Cover Girl, Chihuahua, COSRx, Ellana Minerals, Ever Bilena, In Her Element, K-Palette, Listerine, Max Factor, Makeup World, Nuxe, Pink Sugar, Revlon, SebaMed, The Body Shop, and Zenutrients.
BEST. BRAND. LINEUP. EVER!
And to top it all off, most brands gave either a sale, some kind of promo, or even fun games and activities. Everyone knows the story of my Chihuahua haul. Here's the rest of the loot* I got to take home:
And now my favorite part: The BYS Dramatic Looks Workshop!
I was pretty stoked to host these workshops. I held two hourlong workshops and both time slots had full seats, with people even checking out the workshop from beyond BYS' stall :')
I taught the girls how to get started on the Peach or Berries palettes (PHP 1199.) 12 shades of nudes, pinks, reds, and purples can be intimidating, but once you group them into light, medium and deep colors, it's not really as overwhelming to navigate the palettes! It was a lot of fun especially since everyone who came really wanted to experiment - I didn't have to do a lot of convincing to have them try these daring colors.
If they were really feeling their look, they could have also topped their chosen lip color with the new BYS Glitter Lipgloss (P 399). They come in a ton of shades and the shimmers don't always match the gloss base - makes for a really interesting look!
It was so nice to show everyone how cool these flush palettes can be. Color apart from the lips is pretty intimidating to Filipinas, but seeing that glimmer of hm, matry nga on even one workshop attendant is good enough for me.
In the end, I'm so happy to have been part of the Beauty Confidential. I really appreciate Project Vanity for inviting me as a blogger and BYS Philippines for tapping me to give the workshop. After how many Beauty Fairs attended as makeup enthusiast, this is such a validating level up!
