EB Bold Beauty Play Time!

Last 21 June, I got invited to the EB Bold Beauty event and I must say it's been a while since I've been to an event with a really cute gimmick. Events tend to feel like work, especially when they're in a faraway place, but this one is definitely one of the more enjoyable ones!

There were several high-fashion looks posted all around, (9 in total) and guests were invited to choose one. We were given a face chart, an exclusive kit to use for the look, as well as tools, base makeup and samples for anything else we might need.

Afterward, there was a studio corner where we could get out looks memorialized! Here's my best shot:

It was all really fun and interactive. I guess the best part is, it really forced us to try out the gifts right on the spot. EB is highly accessible; it's easy to find anywhere and the price point is certainly friendly. To be perfectly honest, any other event format would've probably had me keeping the kit in a stockpile until kingdom come. Doing the event this way helped me pick up quick impressions on the brand's strengths (lip products) and weaknesses (eye shadows.)

The Color Shift look relied on a holographic shimmer contour job on the eye area. I was surprised with how the EB Advance Eyeshadow 5 Shades performed, the shimmers looked fine on photo and great in person! They also didn't moosh up into one indistinguishable color. I'm just let down by the texture; the pan of powder doesn't feel all that fine, and shimmers are normally the butterier shades. There was major fallout all over the place, and the application just didn't feel smooth.

This gave me the idea that EB might not be so good with powders, but I actually loved the EB Advance Blush Duo, which I got in the Golden Goddess shade. The blush is a pink-leaning coral with orange shimmer, highly reminiscent of NARS Orgasm on pan. Shame that it swatches a little too strong for my taste. The bronzer on the other hand, is a seemingly-boring neutral brown, but I was actually shocked at how awesome it was as contour powder! The color is perfect, it's very easy to blend and it layers "predictably" e.g. doesn't have invisible moments nor moments of suddenly patching up.

EB LTD Liquid Lippies : shades are so wearable!

Finally, I have the EB Advance Supreme Lipstick in Kylie Creme. It's a pretty dependable bullet, and this color is a no-brainer, super-wearable shade, but I'm personally more excited by their liquid lippies. The LTD Liquid Lipsticks look great, but they have a medicinal smell. The new variants (dropping this August!) look promising!!!

Being one of the first few people to get their portraits taken, I was given more gifts! I have another Kylie Cream lippie and Rainbow Blaze eyeshadow quint, in addtiion to the EB Advance White Purity Lightening Toner, EB Advance Two Way Cake, EB ADvance HD Waterproof Mascara, EB All Day Eyeliner Pen and EB Ultra Matte Lipstick in Innocence. If any of you have used any of these, let me know what to expect!
