Foundation Week 4/7: Most Gorgeous Foundation - Giorgrio Armani Luminous Silk in 3.5

Between 2 luxury foundations I have, it was kind of hard to choose which one to class as Most Gorgeous. Today's feature and Day 2's Crazy Luxe Foundation both look good on me. It was a terse, nail-biting deliberation and to be perfectly honest I feel some kind of unfair favoritism and disloyalty not putting Kanebo Luster Cream in this category. I've had the latter for about a month and need to let the hype completely die down before I more-definitively class it as Most Gorgeous.

In the meantime, something that I've loved and haven't gotten disenchanted with since purchasing about three months ago: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in 3.5 (USD 64 / 30ml). This is HG levels, and rightfully so. I chose a 3.5 but it's too dark on me. NC 20 such as myself might have a better time with 3, but for the record, one of my sisters had it and I swatched and it was so pale/gray on me. At the moment, I adjust 1 pump with 1 drop of NYX Total Control Drop Foundation or plain powder highlight.

The Skin-Like Finish + Intense Lasting Power

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk in 3.5 dropped and blended

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk looks skin-like. Like Kanebo Luster Cream, the pigment sits under some reflective and diffusive action which makes it look like authentic, translucent skin. Coverage is buildable from sheer to about medium, and even settling with medium is not disappointing because the luminosity adds another layer or element of coverage.

Unlike the Kanebo Luster Cream though, GA's shine is more subdued and the feeling, much less wet. My dry skin prefers Kanebo, but GA holds its own! I've used it bare and set, but prefer to keep it set for longer wear. It's lasted me as long as a 12-hour, open-air, sweaty shoot!

Lightweight

For all its power and glory, Luminous Silk feels incredibly lightweight. It's about average on difficulty to apply, as it doesn't pull on the skin like the paint-like heavyweights (ELDW, KVD.) It can leave patches of when applied sloppily, but is barely a nuisance if at all. Once it's settled it doesn't feel like anything to me.

Beauty By Tellie score: 5 / 5 - The hype is real!!!

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk in 3.5, unadjusted, unset and not highlighted.

I am a polite host, so I always jump at the chance to offer hype girls a seat. This time though, I'm the one shookt and needing a seat. I'd avoided Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation for the longest time thinking it was a bandwagon I didn't need to be riding in. I thought people were mindlessly justifying the brand, but it really does deliver. I'll admit, it was dumb avoiding a pretty well-reviewed foundation when I'm more adventurous with untested ones. The tide finally turned when I learned it was the foundation used in Wonder Woman - Gal had that perfect woke up like this freshness!!

This is the kind of foundation you repurchase and hoard if threatened with discontinuation. Long-wearing foundations tend to come with the side-effect of looking cakey and skin-like. Skin-like foundations were previously too sheer or wet. This delivers everything you want in the best manner possible.
