Kojie San x 50 Shades Freed Screening
Last February 7, media friends were treated by Kojie San Philippines to a block screening of 50 Shades Freed. Given the theme of the movie, I was feeling the whole monotone look and decided to come in my own smokey eye and cropped black top.
I said to myself ah sinehan naman. Madilim. Nobody will see my baby butete except for a couple of minutes entering and leaving the cinema.
Well little did I know that the event would start 2 hours later than posted and I would have to be flexing my stomach the whole damn time I was out in public! Ironically, Kojie San was promoting confidence in line with a new whitening deodorant, the Sleeveless Ready Whitening, (PHP 99.50 / 50ml) a 48-hour anti-perspirant and antibacterial deo. They have the same formula for men, but it's only (PHP 95 / 50ml.)
I am a long-term hater of my own armpits. I have resigned myself to their unsightliness, but I don't let that bring me down. That said, it really wouldn't hurt to try a deo that whitens. We use deos daily anyway, might as well get some benefit out of it.
Prior to this screening, I'd been trying a different brand of kojic acid lotion on my legs just to use it up. I had no plans nor expectations with the lotion so I was surprised to see that it was actually speeding up the lightening of my longtime scars! Now I'm stoked to try the rest of the Kojie San line on these marks! I have the Kojie San Skin Ligthening Soap and Kojie San Body Lightening Lotion up to try.
Truth be told, kojic has been a long-time open secret in the beauty world. I had avoided it because I am anti-whitening. However, in the context of fading scars or evening out skin tone, I think we shouldn't shy away from products like these which are known to work. I feel a little silly now avoiding kojic products for such a long time in my misguided attempt of proving some random point. I think confidence is so multi-faceted and we shouldn't give ourselves a hard time about it!
