Never Let Me Go Video Shoot
I'm really excited to share with everyone my second major gig, doing male grooming for a video called "Never Let Me Go" for ASUS Philippines, by Overmind Productions.
I've worked with Overmind in the past, and am happy as a clam that they liked my work enough to call me in a second time. The only thing I dread with productions is that the work is pretty long. I'm pretty much stuck doing retouches until all the scenes are shot, whereas with weddings or private bookings, I just prepare the clients and leave. The retouches are no joke either. Studio lights are very warm, and outdoor shoots have no A/C, so actors sweat SO MUCH MORE. I'm not blaming anyone, as it's my problem and expertise to keep them sweat-free. It's just so much more work compared to studio shoots and fashion shows.
That said, the good part is that the company treats me kindly. They respect my work and demands, so working with them lifts my spirits. I also appreciate the opportunities they share with me. While it is hard work, I still look forward to getting calls from them!
The direction for the character of Mat is very low-maintenance and effortless. He has two looks, one for a younger and one for a more mature version. For the younger Mat, I styled his hair up but didn't put so much product. I had to be able to easily transition to his mature version every few takes, depending on the shoot schedule. For his mature look, I simply put in a part and combed it neatly to the side. Thankfully, Mat's hair was really cooperative!
For his look, they wanted to emphasize his whiteness, and so I decided to keep his complexion true rather than tanned. I took care of his dark circles, texture and made the base as bullet proof as I could.
